Hyperolius viridigulosus Schiøtz, 1967, Spolia Zool. Mus. Haun., 25: 213. Holotype: ZMUC R073439, by original designation. Type locality: "in Bobiri Forest Reserve, Ghana, at a small stream near the forestry resthouse".
