Comment

Schiøtz, 2006, Alytes, 24: 69, suggested that this nominal taxon might be conspecific with Hyperolius benguellensis as did Schiøtz, 2006, Alytes, 24: 46. Channing, Hillers, Lötters, Rödel, Schick, Conradie, Rödder, Mercurio, Wagner, Dehling, Du Preez, Kielgast, and Burger, 2013, Zootaxa, 3620: 333–334, substantiated the distinctiveness of this taxon and provided an account. See Bittencourt-Silva, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (2: e181): 6, for comments on morphology, systematics, and ecology in western Zambia. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 180–181, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
