Rappia lagoensis Günther, 1869 "1868", Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1868: 487. Syntypes: BMNH (2 specimens) by original designation. These being BMNH 1947.2.9.28 (formerly 1865.1.20.18) and 1947.2.9.29 (formerly 1866.3.8.17) according to museum records. Type locality: "Lagos", Nigeria. Foren., 125: 78–80, provided records for Nigeria. Rödel, Brede, Schiefenhövel, Penner, Sinsin, and Nago, 2007, Salamandra, 43: 231–238, reported this species from the Lokoli Forest of southern Benin. Segniagbeto, Bowessidjaou, Dubois, and Ohler, 2007, Alytes, 24: 77, commented on the presence of this species in Togo.
