Syntypes: ZMB (originally 8 specimens) unnumbered according to the original publication (these now including ZMB 77729–33 and 77749 according to Tillack, de Ruiter, and Rödel, 2021, Zoosyst. Evol., Berlin, 97: 415; MCZ 17626 (on exchange from ZMB, is a syntype according to Barbour and Loveridge, 1946, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 96: 126); ZMB 20794a designated lectotype by Perret, 1962, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 65: 244. Type locality: "Bamenda, [Mezam Department, Northwest Region,] Kamerun [= Cameroon]".
