Trachycephalus atlas Bokermann, 1966, Neotropica, 12: 120. Holotype: WCAB 33669, by original designation; now MZUSP. Type locality: "Fazenda Santo Onofre, 10 km a; este de Maracás, Bahía, Brasil".

Distribution

Northeastern Brazil in the states of Bahia, Pernambuco, Paraíba, and Ceará.

Rev., 42: 387, provided a record for Paraíba (Municipality of São João do Cariri) in Brazil and discussed the range. Santos-Silva, Ferrari, and Juncá, 2012, Zootaxa, 3424: 66–68, reported on the advertisement call. Forti, Foratto, Márquez, Pereira, and Toledo, 2018, PeerJ, 6(e4813): 1–19, characterized the advertisement call.
