Hyloscirtus japreria Rojas-Runjaic, Infante-Rivero, Salerno, and Meza-Joya, 2018, Zootaxa, 4382: 126. Holotype: MHNLS 19236, by original designation. Distribution

Known from several localities on the eastern versant of the Sierra de Perijá (Zulia state) in Venezuela, and an additional locality on the western versant in Colombia (La Guajira department); all between 1430 and 1832 m elevation.
