Hypsiboas poaju Garcia, Peixoto, and Haddad, 2008, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 3: 28. Holotype: CFBH 3584, by original designation. Type locality: "from km 90 of highway BR 282, Municipality of Rancho Queimado (27°41′24″S, 48°59′53″W, 780 m elevation), State of Santa Catarina, Brazil".
