Comment

Most similar to Nanorana quadranus (as Paa) according to the original publication. See Chen and Jiang, 2004, Acta Zootaxon. Sinica, 29: 595-599, for supplementary description. Wang, Jiang, Xie, Chen, Dubois, Liang, and Wagner, 2009, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 26: 500-509, reported on aspects of phylogenetic relationships and range of this species. See comment under Nanorana for comments on the status of Feirana. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1437-1442, provided an accounts (as Feirana taihangnica), figures, and map. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 384-385, provided a brief account (as Feirana taihangnica) including photographs of specimens and habitat. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 478-479, provided an account (as Feirana taihangnica), photographs, and a range map. Wang, Jiang, Xie, and Li, 2013, J. Mol. Evol., 76: 112–128, reported on molecular phylogeography of this species (as Feirana taihangnica), which noted substantial differentiation among different mountain-top lineages. Yang, Jiang, Luo, Yang, Wang, Liao, and Hu, 2019, Asian Herpetol. Res., 10: 48–55, reported on microhabitat segregation between this species and Nanorana quadranus (as Feirana).
