Allobates peruvianus — Santos, Coloma, Summers, Caldwell, Ree, and Cannatella, 2009, PLoS Biol., 7(3)e56: 45 (of supplemental text, see comment). Incorrectly referred to as Allobates peruensis, confusing the discussion but this is the name presumably intended.

Lower Amazonian slopes of the Andes in Peru, 400-1500 m; possibly in adjacent Brazil, Ecuador, and Bolivia.

Morales, 1994, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 8: 100, provided an account. De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 57, and Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 69, considered this species possibly to occur in Bolivia. Rivero and Almendáriz C., 1992 "1991", Rev. Politécnica, Quito, 16: 114, thought this species might extend into Ecuador.
