Comment

Lehr, 2006, Herpetologica, 62: 338, suggested that this species is more similar to Phyllonastes than to other Phrynopus, but hesitated to make the taxonomic change. De la Riva, Chaparro, and Padial, 2008, Zootaxa, 1823: 42-50, commented on the systematics of Psychrophrynella and Noblella. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Phrynopus bagrecito) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 403. See Duellman and Lehr, 2009, Terrest.-breeding Frogs in Peru: 260, for brief account.
