Platymantis paengi Siler, Linkem, Diesmos, and Alcala, 2007, Herpetologica, 63: 352. Holotype: PNM 9239, by original designation. Type locality: "at 180 m elevation in an area known locally as 'Mt. Lihidan' (11° 24′ 52.74″ N, 122° 06′ 16.74″ E; WGS-84) Barangay Duyong, Municipality of Pandan, Antique Province, Panay Island, Philippines".

Known only from the northwestern peninsula of Panay I., Philippines, 180-300 m elevation; also reported from Sibuyan I., Philippines

Comment

In the Platymantis dorsalis group according to the original publication, where external morphology, advertisement call, and natural history were described. Gaulke, 2011, Herpetofauna Panay Island: 70-71, provided a brief account for Panay Island, Philippines. Meneses, Siler, Alviola, Balatibat, Gonzalez, Natividad, and Brown, 2022, Check List, 18: 941–984, reported the species from Sibuyan I., Philippines, and discussed its habitat, as well as morphological and call differences from the population at the type locality.
