Rana pullus Smith, 1921, J. Fed. Malay States Mus., 10: 197. Syntypes: BMNH (11 specimens), by original designation; this being BMNH 1947.2.2.69–84 (formerly 1921.4.1.238–253) according to museum records. Type locality: "Tasan, 25 miles S. W. Chumporn, Peninsular Siam [Thailand]". Not preoccupied by Rana gracilis var. pulla Stoliczka, 1870, by reason of being a noun in apposition, according to Ohler, 2023, Bionomina, 35: 51.

Southeastern mainland Myanmar (Kayah, Kayin) and southern peninsular Myanmar (Mon, Tanintharyi) into northern (Kachin), western (Kanchanaburi) and central peninsular Thailand (Chumphon, Ranong, Surat Thani, and Phag Nga provinces).
