Comment

Ruiz-Carranza, Ardila-Robayo, and Lynch, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 366, suggested that there was no evidence that Atelopus ebenoides marinkellei is a suspecies of Atelopus ebenoides but took no taxonomic action. Ardila-Robayo, Osorno-Muñoz, and Maldonado-Silva, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombiaezembed: 112–114, provided an account for Atelopus ebenoides marinkellei and suggested that it might be a distinct species from Atelopus ebenoides. Rueda-Almonacid and Rueda-Martínez, 2005, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Ranas Arlequines: 71, formalized the suggestion.
