Atelopus lynchi Cannatella, 1981, J. Herpetol., 15: 133. Holotype: KU 178412, by original designation. Type locality: "Maldonado, Provincia Carchi, Ecuador, 1410 m, 01° 00′ N, 78° 11′ W".

Distribution

Pacific slopes of northern Ecuador (Provincia Carchi) and southern Colombia (Departamentos Nariño and Cauca, and possibly Valle del Cauca [see comment]), north to Cisneros, between 800 and 1410 m, in cloud forest.

Comment

In the Atelopus ignescens group of Lynch, 1993, Alytes, 11: 77-87. Rivero and Serna, 1993 "1991", Brenesia, 36: 15, doubted that specimens from Valle del Cauca, Colombia, were correctly assigned to this species.
