Atelopus carauta Ruiz-Carranza and Hernández-Camacho, 1978, Caldasia, 12: 183. Holotype: ICN 603, by original designation. Type locality: "Río Carauta, Parque Nacional Natural de las Orquídeas, Municipio de Frontino, vertiente occidental de la Cordillera Occidental, Departamento de Antioquia, Colombia; 1300 m alt."

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Parque Nacional Natural de las Orquídeas) and Murri in humid montane forest in Departamento Antioquia on the western versant of the Cordillera Occidental of Colombia, 1300–1960 m elevation.
