Phrynopus horstpauli Lehr, Köhler, and Ponce, 2000, Senckenb. Biol., 80: 206. Holotype: MUSM 20424, by original designation. Type locality: "approximately 7 km east of Conchamarca, near village Yaurin in a forest called Huncamonte (09° 59′ 55″ S 76° 09′ 43″ W), 3070 m elevation, Distrito Conchamarca, Provincia Ambo, Departamento de Huánuco", Peru.
