Distribution

Cosñipata Valley (1580–1700 m elevation) on the northeastern slope of the Cadena de Paucartambo, an extension of the Cordillera Oriental, Department of Cuzco, Peru.

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group, according to the original publication. In Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) conspicillatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 222. De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 58, and Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 69, considered this species possibly to occur in Bolivia. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127.
