Comment

Resurrected from the synonymy of Brachycephalus ephippium by Heyer, Rand, Cruz, Peixoto, and Nelson, 1990, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 31: 245, where it had been placed by Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 5-7. See account by Abegg, Ortiz, Rocha, and Condez, 2015, Check List, 11 (no. 5, art. 1769): 1–3, provided a record for north of Osasco, São Roque mountains, São Paul, Brazil. Clemente-Carvalho, Perez, Tonhatti, Condez, Sawaya, Haddad, and Reis, 2016, J. Herpetol., 50: 169–178, discussed the identity of the population on the Ilha de São Sebastião within a larger discussion of morphological and molecular distance among populations with reference to biogeography.
