Type locality: "Vituru, Uluguru Mountains, Tanganyika Territory [=Tanzania]"; this locality noted to be at approx. 6.84°S 37.75°E by Gvoždík, Tillack, Menegon, and Loader, 2014, Zootaxa, 3793: 175.

Holotype: ZMB unnumbered, according to the original publication; holotype identified as ZMB 25319 by Gvoždík, Tillack, Menegon, and Loader, 2014, Zootaxa, 3793: 177. Rainforests of the East Arc chain in eastern Tanzania, including the East and West Usambara, Udzungwa, Nguru, Uluguru, and South Pare mountains, 200–2000 m elevation.
