Leptopelis fenestratus Laurent, 1972, Explor. Parc Natl. Virunga, Ser. 2, 22: 43. Holotype: MRAC, according to Laurent, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 229. Type locality: "Riveère Mamudioma, aff. de la Djuma, nouvelle route Watalinga, 1.000 m (en dehors des limites du Parc National Albert [now Virunga]: secteur de la Semliki), Kivu, Congo", Dem. Rep. Congo.
