Colostethus caeruleodactylus Lima and Caldwell, 2001, Herpetologica, 57: 181. Holotype: INPA 7238, by original designation. Type locality: "approximately 40 km S Manaus, elevation 50 m, Amazonas, Brazil (3° 37′ 10.4″ S, 59° 86′ 78.4″ W), in the municipality of Castanho, at km 12 on road to Autazes, in leaf litter in lowland terra firme forest".

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Known from six locations: 1) the type locality (ca. 40 km south of Manaus), 2) about 102 km to the southeast in the Municipality of Castanho, 3) about 665 km southwest in the municipality of Canutamam 4) municipality of Manicore, and 5) municipality of Borba, all in Amazonas, Brazil; in addition the species was noted (6) from northeastern Porto Velho, Rondônia, Brazil.

Simões, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 473, provided the second geographic record. Caldwell, Lima, and Biavati, 2002, Copeia, 2002: 166-172, described the tadpole. Cordeiro, Batistella, Pereira, Gordo, and Vogt, 2009, Herpetol. Rev., 40: 233, provided a record from Canutama Municipality, Amazonas, Brazil. Sanaiotti, 2013, Herpetol. Rev., 44: 620, provided additional records and discussed the range. Call description included in the original publication. Oliveira, Manzatto, and Sousa , 2024 , Rev. Observatorio Econ. Latinoamer., 22: 15, noted the species in northeastern Porto Velho, Rondônia, Brazil.
