Microcaecilia taylori Nussbaum and Hoogmoed, 1979, Zool. Meded., Leiden, 54: 225. Holotype: RMNH 15165a, by original designation. Type locality: "Sipaliwini; forest island on western slope Vier Gebroeders Mountain, 2° N 55° 58′W, 250 m, Surinam".

Distribution

Forest in and west of Sipaliwini Savanna, Suriname; south of the Amazon River in Para, Brazil.

Maciel and Hoogmoed, 2011, Zootaxa, 2984: 26-31, provided a detailed account and a spot map. Dourado, Monteiro, and Maciel, 2011, Check List, 7: 845, provided several records for Pará, Brazil (now reassigned to Microcaecilia marvaleewakeae). Suriname: 326-327.  Maciel and Hoogmoed, 2013, Zootaxa, 3693: 387–394, with the recognition of Microcaecilia marvaleewakeae delimited Microcaecilia taylori into two widely separated populations, one in extreme southern Suriname and the other south of the Amazon River
