Scolecomorphus uluguruensis Barbour and Loveridge, 1928, Mem. Mus. Comp. Zool., 50: 180. Holotype: MCZ 12193, by original designation. Type locality: "Nyingwa, Uluguru Mountains, [Morogoro Division,] Tanganyika Territory [= Tanzania]".

Scolecomorphus attenuatus Barbour and Loveridge, 1928, Mem. Mus. Comp. Zool., 50: 181. Holotype: MCZ 12294 (not 12194 as reported in the original publication according to M.H. Wake IN Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 638). Type locality: "Nyingwa, Uluguru Mountains, [Morogoro Division,] Tanganyika Territory [= Tanzania]". Synonymy by Nussbaum, 1985, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Distribution

High elevations of the Uluguru Mountains of Tanzania, 600 to 2000 m elevation.
