Ichthyophis acuminatus Taylor, 1960, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 40: 98. Holotype: AMNH 20875, by original designation. Type locality: "Me [= Mae] Wang Valley, [Chiang Mai Province,] Thailand".

Known from northwestern Thailand (Mae Wang District, Chiang Mai Province and Pa Song District, Lamphun Province) and Muang Liep, Sayaboury Province, Laos.
