Geotrypetes angeli Parker, 1936, Zool. Meded., Leiden, 19: 87. Holotype: BMNH 1946.9.5.54 (formerly 1909.2.23.10), by original designation and according to Taylor, 1968, Caecilians of the World: 711. Type locality: "Labé, French Guinea [= Guinea]".

English Names

Angel's Caecilian (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 24).

Distribution

Known from the type localities (Labe and Beyla, Guinea) and Tingi Hills, Sierra Leon, presumably to be found in northern Liberia.

Comment

Schiøtz, 1964, Vidensk. Medd. Dansk Naturhist. Foren., 127: 19, provided an additional record beyond the type locality.
