Herpetol., 9: 101, provided the Vietnam component of the range statement but did not cite voucher specimens. Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 9, noted the Vietnamese locality as Nguyen Binh, Cao Bang. In the Paramesotriton chinensis group of Fei, Ye, Huang, Jiang, and Xie, 2005, in Fei et al. (eds.), Illust.
