Pachytriton feii Nishikawa, Jiang, and Matsui, 2011, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 30: 24. Holotype: CIB 200805012, by original designation. Type locality: "Tangkou (Mt. Huang), Huangshan, Anhui Province, People’s Republic of China (30° 06′ N, 118° 10′ E, 670 m asl)".

Montane southern Anhui and southeastern Henan, China, 400 to 930 m elevation.

Similar to Pachytriton granulosus according to the original publication. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 102–103, provided an account, photographs, and a map that added a locality in southeastern Henan. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 171, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. Wu and Murphy, 2015, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 92: 108–117, included this species in their Pachytriton brevipes complex and examined the systematics and potential range. Fei and Ye, 2016, Amph. China, 1: 333–336, provided an account, photograph, and range map. Sparreboom, 2014, Salamanders Old World: 277–278, reviewed the biology, characteristics, distribution, reproduction, and conservation of the species. Zhao, Wang, Wang, Liu, and Lu, 2015, J. Henan Normal Univ. (Nat.
