Desmognathus valentinei Means, Lamb, and Bernardo, 2017, Zootaxa, 4263: 484. Holotype: MCZ A-143850, by original designation. Type locality: "Talisheek Bay swamp, ~20 m elevation, east of Money Hill Road, 30.568056˚ N, 89.927778˚ W, in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana", USA.

Distribution

Southeastern Louisiana, southern Mississippi, and southwestern Alabama, USA. 

Comment

Confused with Desmognathus auriculatus prior to its naming according to the original publication.
