Distribution

Central Sierra Oriental in cloud forest in Veracruz (Cerro San Pedro Chicoquiaco near la Joya) and adjacent Puebla (Quetzalan), Mexico, 1200–1500 m elevation.

Comment

Most closely related to Pseudoeurycea nigromaculata according to the original publication, so in the Pseudoeurycea leprosa group by implication (DRF). Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 268, provided a brief account, photograph, and map and included it in the Pseudoeurycea leprosa group. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph.
