Nototriton matama Boza-Oviedo, Rovito, Chaves, García-Rodríguez, Artavia, Bolaños, and Wake, 2012, Zootaxa, 3309: 48. Holotype: UCR 20215, by original designation. Type locality: "from the southeastern end of the Fila Matama (coordinates: 9.8071° N, 83.1683° W) at an elevation of 1300 m", Provincia de Limón, Costa Rica.

Matama Moss Salamander (original publication).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality on the Fila de Matama, a large moutnain ridge that arises as part of the Cerro Chirripó, Provincia de Limón, Costa Rica.

Comment

In the Nototriton picadoi group according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 366, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
