Distribution

Eastern slopes of Cofre de Perote in central Veracruz, Mexico, in bromeliads in cloud forest between 1520 and 2023 m elevation.

Comment

Most closely related to Chiropterotriton aureus and Chiropterotriton chiropterus according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 803, provided an account summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
