Bolitoglossa madeira Brcko, Hoogmoed, and Neckel-Oliveira, 2013, Zootaxa, 3686: 422. Holotype. MPEG 18334, by original designation. Type locality: "left bank of Madeira river, near Jaci-Paraná river, 09° 10’ 52,21” S, 64° 24’ 03,62” W, Municipality of Porto Velho, state of Rondônia, Brazil, 78 m elevation"

Distribution

Known only from the northwestern part of Rondônia state, on left bank of the Madeira river, near Hydroelectric Projects of Santo Antônio and Jirau, both in the Municipality of Porto Velho, elevations of 70 to 100 m.  

Comment

Confused with Bolitoglossa altamazonica and Bolitoglossa paraensis prior to its naming according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 338, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
