Batrachoseps (Plethopsis) robustus Wake, Yanev, and Hansen, 2002, Copeia, 2002: 1017. Holotype: MVZ 219115, by original designation. Type locality: "3.4 km south-southeast Sherman Pass Road on USFS rd 22S19, approximately 4.4 km (air) north-northwest Sirretta Peak; approximately 0.9 km (air) southeast Round Meadow on Kern Plateau, Tulare County, California (T22S, R34E, Sect. 31), 2775-2800 m elevation, 35.9604° N, 118.3514° W".

Kern Plateau and Scodie Mountains of Kern and Tulare counties, California, USA, in pine and chaparral habitats at elevations of 1615–2804 m.
