Onychodactylus koreanus Min, Poyarkov, and Vieites In Poyarkov, Che, Min, Kuro-o, Yan, Li, Iizuka, and Vieites, 2012, Zootaxa, 3465: 50. Holotype: EWNJM 80316, by original designation. Type locality: "SinGi-Myeon environs, Samcheok-shi, Gangwon-do, Korea, 400 m a.s.l.; geographic coordinates: 37° 20′ N; 129° 03′ E."

Republic of Korea in the Baekdudaegan and Taebaeksanmaek Mountains (reported from provinces Gangwon-do, Gyeonggi-do; Chungcheongbuk-do; Chungcheongnam-do; Gyeongsangbuk-do; Gyeongsangnam-do; Jeollabuk-do; Jeollanam-do). Likely to extend north into the People's Republic of (North) Korea but no collections are available from there.


In the Onychodactylus koreanus complex, according to the original publication. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 50, provided a brief account, photo, and range map.
