Telmatobius verrucosus Werner, 1899, Zool. Anz., 22: 482. Holotype: NHMW 22921, acording to De la Riva, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Telmatobius marmoratus by De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 50, and De la Riva, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 86-89 (who provided an account), where it had been placed by Vellard, 1969 "1968", Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 2, 40: 1112. De la Riva, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 88-89, discussed errors in the literature due to the misidentification of the type and other serious problems in the history of delimiting this taxon.
