Telmatobius bolivianus Parker, 1940, Trans. Linn. Soc. London, Ser. 3, 1: 213. Holotype: BMNH 1940.4.3.83, by original designation. Type locality: "Chaco, a hamlet on the Unduavi River, about 25 kilometers north-west of Puente de la Via; altitude about 2600 m", Bolivia.

Distribution

Humid montane forest in most of the eastern Cordillera in the Department of La Paz (Cordillera de Apolobamba, Real, and Quimsa Cruz) from the Quime Valley in Provincia Inguisivi to the Charazani Valley in Provincia Saavedra, with an altitudinal range of 2000-3100 m.

Removed from the synonymy of Telmatobius marmoratus by De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 49, where it had been placed by Vellard, 1969 "1968", Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 2, 40: 1112. Previously placed in the synonymy of Telmatobius verrucosus by Vellard, 1951, Mem. Mus. Hist. Nat. Javier Prado, 1: 76, although Parker, 1940, Trans. Linn. Soc. London, Ser. 3, 1: 203-216, noted differences between the two forms. De la Riva, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 68-71, provided an account.
