Theloderma (Stelladerma) vietnamense Poyarkov, Orlov, Moiseeva, Pawangkhanant, Ruangsuwan, Vassilieva, Galoyan, Nguyen, and Gogoleva, 2015, Russ. J. Herpetol., 22: 262. Holotype. ZMMU A-5387, by original designation. Type locality: "Vietnam, Dong Nai Province, Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve (former Cat Tien National Park), Nam Cat Tien Sector, environs of Cat Tien National Park headquarters, in a water-filled hollow in a Lagerstroemia calyculata (Lythraceae) tree, approximate coordinates: 11°25′43″ N 107°25′38″ E; altitude ca. 110 m a.s.l."

Distribution

Southern and central Vietnam and adjacent Cambodia (Mondol Kiri), from the Con Dao archipelago in the south to Kon Tum Province of central Vietnam in the north, to central Laos and northern and eastern Thailand, below 1500 m elevation.

Confused with Theloderma stellatum prior to its naming according to the original publication. See account, photograph, and map for Vietnam in Vassilieva, Galoyan, Poyarkov, and Geissler, 2016, Photograph. Field Guide Amph. Rept. Lowland S. Vietnam: 125–127. Poyarkov, Orlov, Moiseeva, Pawangkhanant, Ruangsuwan, Vassilieva, Galoyan, Nguyen, and Gogoleva, 2015, Russ. J. Herpetol., 22: 248, provided a record from Cambodia. Niyomwan, Srisom, and Pawangkhanant, 2019, Field Guide Amph. Thailand: 458–459, provided a brief account (description, photographs, habitat, and range) for Thailand (in Thai). Ginal, Flecks, and Hartmann, 2023, Salamandra, 59: 87–91, discussed the range in Cambodia, provided a dot map, and noted that genetic confirmation is likely required to identify this species from Theloderma stellatum.
