Comment

Discussed (as Rhacophorus leprosus phrynoderma) by Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 413-414. See criticism of the formulation of Rhacophorus leprosus in the sense of Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 154-159, by Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 408. See identification table by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 122-123, to compare this species (as Theloderma asperum) to other rhacophorids of the Sunda Shelf region. Dever, Nguyen, and Wilkinson, 2015, Copeia, 103: 402–415, reported new specimens from southern Myanmar and redescribed the morphology and the phylogenetic placement via mtDNA analysis. In the subgenus Theloderma, Theloderma asperum species group of Poyarkov, Orlov, Moiseeva, Pawangkhanant, Ruangsuwan, Vassilieva, Galoyan, Nguyen, and Gogoleva, 2015, Russ. J. Herpetol., 22: 276.
