Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Philautus leucorhinus by Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 216, where it had been placed by Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 19. Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 216-218, provided an account and noted this extinct species to resemble Philautus malcolmsmithi, Philautus cuspis, Philautus zorro, and Philautus alto. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 141, who regarded the species as extinct.
