Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Philautus leucorhinus by Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 200, where it had been placed by Kirtisinghe, 1957, Amph. Ceylon: 69. Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 200-202, provided an account and noted that this extinct species is similar to Philautus hypomelas and Philautus caeruleus. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 141, who regarded the species as extinct.
