Known only from the type locality (Loolkandura, Kandy District, Central Province, Sri Lanka, 1324 m elevation).

Comment

The sister taxon of Pseudophilautus hankeni according to the original publication. Ellepola, Herath, Manamendra-Arachchi, Wijayathilaka, Senevirathne, Pethiyagoda, and Meegaskumbura, 2021, PLoS One, 16(10: e0258594): 10, noted that on molecular criteria alone this nominal species is likely conspecific with Pseudophilautus hankeni.
