Ghatixalus asterops Biju, Roelants, and Bossuyt, 2008, Organisms Divers. Evol., 8: 271. Holotype: BNHS 4247, by original designation. Type locality: "near Bear Shola, Kodaikanal, 10° 13′ N, 77° 29′ E, 2000 m asl, Dindigal district, Tamil Nadu, India".

Distribution

High altitude localities in the Palani Hills and surrounding areas south of the Palghat Gap (southern Western Ghats) in west-central Tamil Nadu and in adjacent east-central Kerala, India.
