Type locality: "Im Inneren der Somalisteppen häufig, besonders am Steppensee bei Laku und im Lande der Abdallah nördlich vom Webithal", Ethiopia. Synonymy by Parker, 1932, Proc. Zool. Soc. Distribution

Savannas of lowland eastern and southern and eastern Ethiopia and northern Somalia through Kenya to southern Tanzania.
