Comment

See Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 208–210 (as Rana luzonensis, Rana mearnsi, and Rana everetti); Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 304–312, and Brown, McGuire, and Diesmos, 2000, Herpetologica, 56: 81–104, for accounts. Ferner, Brown, Sison, and Kennedy, 2001, Asiat. Herpetol. Res., 9: 45, implied that populations on the Philippines islands of Negros and Panay may be a distinct species from Rana everetti. Fuiten, Welton, Diesmos, Barley, Oberheide, Duya, Rico, and Brown, 2011, Herpetologica, 67: 99, suggested that the biogeographic distribution of nominal Sanguirana everetti warranted careful systematic evaluation. Records for Visayan (Negros, Masbate, Panay) have been transferred to Sanguirana acai.
