Distribution

West-central and south-central eastern Asia Minor of Turkey to Caucasus Mountains of Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan; thence into northwestern Iran (West Azarbaijan, East Azarbaijan, Ardabil, Zanjan, Kordestan, Kermanshah, Hamedan, Qazvin, and Mazandaran provinces); isolated population in Kopet-Dag mountains of Turkmenistan.
