Odorrana mutschmanni Cuong, Nguyen, Le, Bonkowski, and Ziegler, 2016, Zootaxa, 4084: 423. Holotype: IEBR 3723, by original designation. Known only from Ha Lang District, Cao Bang Province, northeastern Vietnam), although presumably to be found in adjacent karst formations in Ha Giang Province of Vietnam and Guangxi and Yunnan provinces of China. 


In the Odorrana andersonii group and the sister taxon of Odorrana wuchuanensis according to the original publication. Cuong, An, Herbst, Bonkowski, Ziegler, and Nguyen, 2017, Bonn Zool. Bull., 66: 37–53, provided additional records for Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, along with observatons on morphology and natural history.
