Comment

Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 149-150, provided an account. See comment under Meristogenys. Shimada, Matsui, Yambun Imbun, Lakim, and Mohamed, 2008, Zootaxa, 1843: 24-34, provided molecular evidence for the existence of at least two distinct species in Sabah, Malaysia, masquerading under this name; one of which was subsequently named as Meristogenys dyscritus. Shimada, Matsui, Yambun Imbun, and Sudin, 2011, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 161: 157-183, provided molecular evidence for at least three cryptic species in addition to nominal Meristogenys amoropalamus. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 484. Shimada, Matsui, Yambun Imbun, and Sudin, 2011, Zootaxa, 2905: 33-56, redelimited the species and discussed its geographic variation.
