Amolops indoburmanensis Dever, Fuiten, Konu, and Wilkinson, 2012, Copeia, 2012: 70. Holotype: CAS 235070, by original designation. Type locality: "Myanmar, Chin State, Mintatt District, Mintatt Township, Twi Rein Village, 21° 35′ 55.4″ N, 93° 51′ 59.9″ E".

Myanmar in Chin State, Rakhine State, southern Sagaing Division, and western Bago Division, to Mizoram and Manipur, India.

Dever, Fuiten, Konu, and Wilkinson, 2012, Copeia, 2012: 57-76, noted that this taxon, formerly confused with Amolops marmoratus, is composed of distinctive populations that may represent distinct lineages. Lalronunga, Vanramliana, Lalrinchhana, Vanlalhrima, Sailo, Lalnunhlua, Sailo, Zosangliana, Lalhmangaiha, and Lalhmingliani, 2020, Sci. Vision, 20: 106–117, provided a record from Mizoram, northeastern India, confirmed with genetic analysis. In the Amolops marmoratus group of Wu, Yan, Stuart, Prendini, Suwannapoom, Dahn, Zhang, Cai, Xu, Jiang, Chen, Lemmon, Lemmon, Raxworthy, Orlov, Murphy, and Che, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 144 (106701): 1–13, who discussed molecular phylogenetics. In the Amolops marmoratus group of Jiang, Ren, Lyu, Wang, Wang, Lv, Wu, and Li, 2021, Zool. Res., Kunming, 42: 574–591. Decemson, Gouda, Lalbiakzuala, Lalmuansanga, Hmar, Mathipi, and Lalremsanga, 2021, J. Threatened Taxa, 13: 17918–17929, reported the species from the Dampa Tiger Reserve, Mizoram, India. Zug, 2022, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 653: 34, briefly discussed identification, habitat, and range in Myanmar.  Saikia, Laskar, Sinha, Debnath, Sengupta, Das, Shabnam, Kharkongor, and Dinesh, 2022, Reptiles & Amphibians, 29: 214–224, reported the species from Murlen Village, Champhai District, Mizoram, India. Decemson, Siammawii, Biakzuala, and Lalremsanga, 2022, Herpetol. Rev., 53: 69, provided a record from near Lamphou Charu Village, Chandel District, Manipur, India.
