Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis by Brandão, 2002, J. Herpetol., 36: 577 (although Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 17, had doubted the synonymy), where it had been placed by Lutz and Lutz, 1939, An. Acad. Brasil. Cienc., 11: 219, and who noted that other specimens associated with this name (such as from the Serra do Cipó reported by Eterovick and Sazima, 2004, Anf. Serra do Cipó) are not conspecific with the holotype. In the Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 117, Caramaschi, 2006, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64: 159-179 (who provided an account, discussed the holotype, and disagreed with Brandão, 2002, regarding the identity of specimens from the Serra de Cipó in Minas Gerais), and Faivovich, Haddad, Baêta, Jungfer, Álvares, Brandão, Sheil, Barrientos, Barrio-Amorós, Cruz, and Wheeler, 2010, Cladistics, 26: 259. Eterovick and Sazima, 2004, Anf. Serra do Cipó: 61-62, provided a photograph and brief account.
