Phrynobatrachus tanoeensis Kpan, Kouamé, Barej, Adeba, Emmrich, Boateng, and Rödel, 2018, Zootaxa, 4388: 224. Holotype: ZMB 80870, by original designation. Type locality: "Ivory Coast, Tanoé-Ehy Swamp Forest, 05°11’181’’N, 02°53’011’’W (date WGS84), swamp forest dominated by Raphia palms".

English Names

Tanoé Puddle Frog (original publication). 


Known from two swamp forests, the Tanoé-Ehy Swamp Forest region in south-eastern Ivory Coast and a forest near Ebonloa, south-western Ghana.  


Genetically and morphologically most similar to Phrynobatrachus liberiensis and Phrynobatrachus intermedius according to the original publication.
